On 23 March 2026, H.E.Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from a delegation of the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF), led by Mr. Rath Sophoan, Chairman of the Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC), at the National Bank of Cambodia, Wat Phnom Building. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views and seek guidance on the implementation of the Accredited Director Program (ADP).
During the discussion, Mr. Sophoan presented the objectives of the ADP, which aims to strengthen corporate governance across companies, with a particular focus on the banking and financial sector. He also shared updates on the program’s progress and requested further guidance to enhance its quality and ensure its continued relevance in line with the evolving landscape of Cambodia’s banking sector.
In response, H.E.Dr. Chea Serey expressed her appreciation for the significant progress achieved by IBF, which aligns with the broader mission of developing human capital in the banking sector, both in quantity and quality. She reaffirmed her support for the ADP, offering recommendations to further enhance its effectiveness, and encouraged IBF to strengthen collaboration with the Institute for Banking Studies (IBS) to further advance capacity building and professional development within the sector.
