Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Forum on “Access to Finance for Women Entrepreneurs in COVID-19 Era”

In the afternoon of February 4th, 2021, H.E. Rath Sovannorak, Director General of Banking Supervision, on behalf of H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, presides over the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Forum on “Access to Finance for Women Entrepreneurs in COVID-19 Era” at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra. This forum is hosted by the USAID through Pact Cambodia in collaboration with the National Bank of Cambodia and Khmer Enterprise, co-organized by Swisscontact and Good Return, to share experiences and relevant insights on access to finance for women entrepreneurs, create an enabling environment for key actors and stakeholders in entrepreneurship ecosystem and encourage financial service providers to consider appropriate financial products and services to suit women entrepreneur’s needs.

Taking this opportunity, H.E. Director General has informed all participants that financial inclusion plays an important role in poverty reduction and economic empowerment in Cambodia. Thus, promoting access to and usage of affordable and well-regulated financial services is set as one of NBC’s priorities. However, there are still a lot of challenges remained to overcome, particularly for women.
