Meeting between H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the Naitional Bank of Cambodia and Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund

On November 26th, 2015, H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, allowed Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa to pay courtesy call, on the occasion of the 51st Conference and High-level Seminar of the Governors of the South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) and 35th Meeting of the SEACEN Board of Governors (BOG), which was held in the Manila, Phillipines. Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa was appointed as Deputy Managing Director of the IMF in March 2015.

Taking that opportunity, H.E. Chea Chanto informed Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa about Cambodia’s strong economic growth and rapid development of the banking system that have been achieved so far. He also expressed his gratitude to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for having provided the useful technical assistance and contributed to the capacity building of Cambodia, in particular of the National Bank of Cambodia, in order to develop the economy and financial system in Cambodia. Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa congratulated Cambodia for achieving such robust growth and resilient financial system and reaffirmed the IMF’s stance on its continuous support to the Royal Government of Cambodia and the National Bank of Cambodia.
