The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), in collaboration with Phnom Penh Commercial Bank Plc (PPCB) and Jeonbuk Bank, officially launched the cross-border payment between the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Cambodia Phase 1 at a ceremony presided over by H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, on August 29, 2024 in Phnom Penh.

In the phase 1, the Republic of Korea’s visitors can use Jeonbuk Bank's JBB Mobile App to scan Bakong (KHQR Code) at more than 3.3 million merchants in Cambodia. This project will significantly contribute to further enhancing the cooperation between the countries to an all-new height on finance, trade and tourism, as well as the financial inclusion in Cambodia.
