H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, participated in the opening ceremony of the Tsinghua PBCSF Global Finance Forum, organized by Tsinghua University, a world-renowned higher education institution, on 18 May 2026 in Chengdu, the People's Republic of China.
The forum is convened annually to bring together senior financial leaders, global financial policymakers, and researchers to discuss developments in major economic and financial issues. This year’s forum was attended by distinguished leaders and prominent figures, including prime ministers, deputy prime ministers, central bank governors, ministers, Nobel laureates, deans, and professors from leading universities around the world.
On this occasion, H.E. Governor also participated in a session on “Digital Currencies and Cross-Border Payments,” which discussed emerging opportunities and challenges in the sector. In addition, H.E. shared Cambodia’s experience in the development of digital payment systems and outlined future directions for enhancing cross-border payment connectivity.
